I remember there was a saying about every country/ city deserves two visits—once in the summer and another during the winter. After my 3rd visit to Salzburg, I couldn't agree more. In winter, Salzburg transforms into a nostalgia wonderland which every street and building sparkles with magic, and Salzburg Christmas markets just add that extra touch to this magical atmosphere. If you haven't experienced Salzburg in winter, I promise you this is a once in a lifetime experience, even Vienna Christmas markets couldn't beat this...(and I am the biggest fan of Vienna). Reasons to visit Salzburg Christmas market If you are planning to experience a white christmas this year, Salzburg should be one of your best choices. It will snow in December in Salzburg. Salzburg is a nostalgia city, and Christmas market just adds this magical touch to it. While in Salzburg, you can also grab the chance and visit the famous Hallstatt during winter.
